Before You Start: Travel Business Readiness Checklist

This checklist is a planning aid for an independent business, not a job application, a qualification decision or a promise of income. No enrollment is required to read or complete it. Keep private account, passport, payment and identity information out of this worksheet.

Decide what you are looking for

Write down whether you want employment, independent travel-advisor business ownership, organization for a business you already run, or information about a separate independent-representative activity. These are different decisions. Someone researching a job should not be steered into a business without understanding the difference.

My objective: ______________________

Questions I still need answered: ______________________

Verify the current sources

Confirm the company and activity, your residence market and any current-location requirements before enrollment. Read the current applicable agreement, costs, cancellation terms, responsibilities and disclosure documents through official sources. A social post, a translated summary or a team presentation does not replace the governing materials. [S02]

For each source, record the version or date you read and the question you still want answered: agreement; costs and billing; cancellation and refund terms; market and activity rules; support and training; the applicable income disclosure. [S08]

Test your available time

Build an honest weekly schedule. Leave space for learning, communications, administration and customer needs — not only posting online. Set realistic service boundaries and identify where authorized official support is available. A sample plan is not a minimum effort requirement or a forecast of results.

Note your available time and what you need to learn for each of: official training and research; customer conversations; authorized follow-up and administration; content or relationship development; review and planning.

Ask about costs without inventing income

List only documented or personally estimated expenses, and label which is which. Separate one-time, recurring and optional items. Ask what is included, what is billed by an outside provider, and what happens if you stop. Do not turn hoped-for bookings into available cash.

For each item record a verified amount or “unknown”, the frequency and the official source or assumption behind it: enrollment or setup if applicable; recurring program costs if applicable; optional software and usage; optional marketing; local professional advice or required permissions.

Make a considered next step

What do I understand clearly? ______________________

What remains unverified? ______________________

Which official source or qualified person should answer it? ______________________

Choose an action: keep learning; ask for an official source; request a conversation; or decide this is not the right fit. Declining an opportunity is a valid outcome of good research. [S09]

Cited sources

2026-09-13Sources were recorded on this date and link to the companies' own public pages. A recorded reference is not an approval, and the current official materials always take precedence.

Next step

Read “Part-Time Travel Advisor: Independent Business or Job?” alongside this worksheet, then take your questions to the official company sources.

Reading this page proves nothing about residence, citizenship or enrollment eligibility. Each activity is verified separately through official channels.
